TRC discusses restoration for damage associated with waste piping, including a reported leaking stack or concealed drain line. Tell us whether a plumber has identified a fault or whether the drain line is only a suspected source.
Water emerging from a toilet, sink, or floor drain belongs in the fixture-overflow discussion. If sewage is suspected, say so when calling. TRC does not classify the water or establish that standard extraction and drying are sufficient.

Share the pipe location, the areas affected, and any findings supplied by your plumber.

Assess the building damage
We assess and document structural damage. Discuss any suspected sewage and inaccessible areas before an extraction or drying scope is agreed.
Agree the restoration work
Work performed to IICRC S500 standards. Drain clearing, pipe diagnosis, and concealed-line repair are not established by a building restoration assessment.
Report the location without opening walls or floors.
Follow facility procedures and avoid contact with drain water.
Identify the pipe area
State whether the reported leak is near a stack, behind a wall, or associated with piping beneath a floor.
Separate observations from diagnosis
A stain or odor is information to report; it does not establish a pipe fault or water category.
Mention suspected sewage
Tell the team about waste-water concerns when you call so the restoration scope can be discussed with that information.
What does drain-line cleanup include?
TRC offers restoration of resulting building water damage. Licensed electricians and plumbers are brought in whenever the work requires it. Do not assume that a restoration assessment includes drain clearing or concealed-pipe diagnosis.
Tell us what the plumbing provider has established and which building areas show damage. The location and repair of a concealed pipe are separate from TRC's assessment of resulting structural damage.
Tell TRC when you call and avoid contact with the water. The source and affected area need assessment before the work is agreed. TRC does not establish a water category or provide health clearance.
