Describe the equipment location without assuming the failure mode.
Tell us whether the incident involves a water heater, boiler, or associated fitting, and share any findings from the equipment provider. The equipment name alone does not establish water volume, pressure, temperature, or the cause of the release.
Identify the mechanical room and any adjoining or lower areas with reported damage. TRC's building restoration scope does not include a promise to diagnose, replace, or return heating equipment to service.

Have the facility or equipment-service contact explain the reported equipment status and access conditions.

Share information from the personnel responsible for equipment shutdown and service. Do not treat a restoration visit as authorization to operate water, fuel, or electrical controls.

We assess and document structural damage. Tell TRC about reported effects in the mechanical room, nearby rooms, or areas below it.
Discuss extraction, drying, and rebuild
TRC can scope restoration for the resulting building water damage. Equipment repair or replacement is a separate discussion with the appropriate provider.

Follow facility procedures and keep away from hot water and affected electrical or fuel-fired equipment.

TRC offers restoration of resulting building water damage. Equipment diagnosis, replacement, and return to service need a separate discussion with the appropriate qualified provider. Licensed electricians and plumbers are brought in whenever the work requires it.
We assess and document structural damage. Tell TRC which lower or adjoining areas have reported damage so access and the restoration scope can be discussed.
We document losses and coordinate with insurance carriers. The carrier decides coverage for the equipment and resulting damage under the policy. TRC does not predict either decision.
